Hotsauce Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Alpha-X ("Hotsauce," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Hotsauce website, apps, and related services (the "Service"). Hotsauce helps high school soccer players build a recruiting profile and share it with coaches.

Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service.

Who can use Hotsauce

Hotsauce is intended for high school athletes who are at least 13 years old and for their parents or legal guardians, as well as coaches. Hotsauce is not directed to, and may not be used by, children under 13. If a player is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service, and is responsible for the minor's use of the Service. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will delete it.

Information we collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: name, email address, password, and account role (player, parent or guardian, or coach).
  • Profile content: a player's name, photo, jersey number, positions, height, weight, preferred foot, graduating class, city, school, club and team history, achievements, biography, and any other details added to a profile.
  • Video and media: highlight clips and images uploaded to build a profile reel.
  • Trusted adult contact information: the name, email, and phone number of a parent, guardian, or the player's coach, which a recruiting coach may use to make contact.
  • Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: how the Service is used, including when a shared profile or Coach's Cut is opened, aggregate view counts, and similar activity.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of information such as government identifiers or financial account numbers, and we ask that you not submit them.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and operate accounts and profiles;
  • Build, host, and display profiles and highlight reels, including assembling clips into a reel;
  • Let a player or guardian share a profile by private link and let coaches view it;
  • Show a profile owner aggregate view activity, such as how many times a Coach's Cut has been viewed;
  • Communicate with you about the Service;
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • Improve and develop the Service;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

How profiles are shared

A profile's Coach's Cut is shared through a private, unlisted link that the player or guardian controls. Profiles are not listed in a public directory and are not indexed by search engines. Anyone who has the link can open it, and a link can be forwarded by the people you share it with, so you should share it only with people you trust. A coach who wants to make contact is directed to a trusted adult listed on the profile, never to the minor directly, and the minor's own contact information is not displayed on the profile.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • With people you choose: when you share a profile link, anyone who opens it can see the shared profile content.
  • With service providers: vendors who help us run the Service, such as Mux, a video hosting, Supabase, database and storage, and Vercel, a website hosting provider, who process information on our behalf under contract.
  • For legal reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Hotsauce, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure activity such as view counts, and keep the Service secure. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Data retention

We keep information while an account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

Your choices and rights

You, or a parent or guardian acting on behalf of a minor, may:

  • Access, review, and update profile information through the account;
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold;
  • Request that we correct or delete personal information, including a minor's profile and uploaded media;
  • Unpublish or stop sharing a profile.

To make a request, contact us at team@alphax.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Parents and guardians: a parent or guardian may review a minor's information, request its deletion, and refuse any further collection of it by contacting us at team@alphax.com.

California residents: Alpha-X is based in California. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete and correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise these rights, contact us at team@alphax.com.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
